Syndicate in LPG gas cylinders
Dear Sir,
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), widely used for cook-ing, has become an essential part of everyday life. Unfortunately, this vital commodity is now under the control of dishonest syndicates, creating immense suffering for ordinary consumers. Despite govern-ment-fixed prices, widespread overpricing continues unchecked in the market. Dealers and retailers often create artificial shortages to exploit customers, forc-ing them to pay significantly higher prices.
In many cases, consumers are falsely informed that gas cylinders are out of stock, even when suffi-cient supply exists. These cylinders are then sold secretly at inflated rates. Such unethical practices thrive due to weak monitoring and lack of strict enforcement by the authorities. As a result, the situ-ation has reached an alarming level, disrupting daily life and placing a heavy financial burden on the general public.
This ongoing manipulation not only harms con-sumers but also destabilizes the overall market sys-tem. If immediate steps are not taken, the future of the energy sector may face even more serious con-sequences. Therefore, we earnestly urge the National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection and all relevant authorities to take strict action against these syndicates and ensure that LPG cylin-ders are sold at the government-approved price.
